Holley Clough, Director of the Degree Completion Program
Multnomah University

Today’s society demands flexibility. Not every student can devote four years to attend college, live on campus, and singularly focus on education. Pressures of financing, family, and jobs often require more elastic educational offerings.

Online programs, blended courses, and degree completion programs offer a way to help a college or university better serve its students. Even educational institutions that want to maintain a heavy focus on the traditional learning model can benefit.

Consider the student who merely needs a math course to graduate. What if the one time that class is taught in a semester conflicts with another mandatory course? In the past, the university had to choose between two difficult routes: an individualized learning program or forcing the student to delay graduation. Online courses can help alleviate this difficult choice by providing the student the convenience of flexibility while still offering a more structured environment than independent study.

Institutions that partner with Knowledge Elements remain in total control. We will help you identify needs and assess the feasibility of alternative delivery methods. Our programs do not require expensive start-up costs; you pay only based on the increase in enrollment. We can provide the technological outlet while you provide the course material, or if you choose to use an online course we offer, it must meet your standard approval process. It also is not difficult to alter an existing course to better suit your needs.

No matter what program we help you develop, all will be focused on a collaborative teaching/learning style, something we have labeled sunagogy. Faculty members facilitate learning activities and engage the students. This collaboration encourages the students to move beyond theory into practical application.

Each course includes clearly stated learning outcomes and is structured around activities that implement those outcomes. All of our courses are developed with the adult learner in mind.
